This year, PBFC’s major fundraiser will be for The Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (AMDF). Some of our long serving members and their family have been impacted by this awful disease and the club has decided to dedicate this year’s major fundraiser to the Foundation which thrives to find a cure for this disease.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to tell you a little more about The Australian Mitochondrial Disease Foundation (AMDF), mitochondrial disease (mito) and to let you know how donations are making a difference to the lives of sufferers.
AMDF is a small organisation with a big vision. We are the only Australian organisation providing dedicated support to people suffering from mito. This devastating genetic disease robs sufferers of their energy, health, independence and too often, their life.
I understand the painful realities of mito having lost both my mum and brother to this cruel disease.
AMDF is committed to finding a cure, effective treatments and techniques to prevent mito being passed onto the next generation, including via a ground-breaking IVF technique.
