We are deeply shocked, saddened and heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our Life Member and former President – George Lundy

From our PBFC family, words are extremely hard to find at this time. How do you piece together the memories and words that truly reflect how each and every one of us was impacted by this great man who was taken from us too soon?

From the clubs inception in 1976, one of our inaugural players, George will be remembered as a proud father kicking the ball around with Gerard and Stephen. Then as we all got older he was our passionate coach, all the while with Kathleen and Nicele on the sideline, as the most avid supporters.

George was a major advocate and champion for community football, and a catalyst in raising and growing the profile of the game in the Eastern Suburbs. His vision of small sided games, and his fight for PBFC members and the greater community was what inspired us all as he mentored us through the various stages of our own lives.

But where you were happiest, was with Kathleen, and the family you built together. Your laugh, cheeky jokes, and legacy will live on through the foundations of PBFC.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions the funeral will be held with immediate family this week. Once restrictions are eased, there will be a memorial in his honour.

Well it’s a grand old team to play for.
And it’s a grand old team to see.
And if
you know
your history
it’s enough to make your hearts go wo o o o
We don’t care what the (other team) say
For what the heck do we care
For we always know that there’s going to be a show
When Pagewood are there and everywhere.

RIP George Lundy
